Legal & Compliance

Compliance

Compliance means following the rules and regulations that apply to your business — things like GDPR for data, the EU AI Act for AI tools, employment law, or health and safety requirements. For most small Irish businesses, compliance is not about armies of lawyers; it is about having the right policies in place and using tools and services responsibly. Staying on top of compliance protects you from fines, disputes, and reputational damage.

Real-world example

A Waterford solicitor uses an AI tool to help draft client correspondence but has a compliance checklist to ensure no confidential client details are pasted into public AI tools — satisfying both GDPR and professional conduct rules.
