Digital Grant
A digital grant is funding provided by a government body to help small businesses adopt digital tools and technology. In Ireland, the main digital grants for SMEs are the Trading Online Voucher (up to €2,500) and the Digital for Business grant from Local Enterprise Offices. These grants can cover costs like website upgrades, e-commerce setup, online booking systems, and digital marketing tools.
Real-world example
A Galway craft shop uses a €2,500 Trading Online Voucher to build a Shopify store and pay for six months of Google Ads. Online sales now account for 30% of their revenue.
