Privacy Policy

A privacy policy is a statement on your website or app that tells visitors what personal data you collect, why you collect it, how you store it, and who you share it with. Under GDPR, if you collect any personal data from people in the EU — even just email addresses through a contact form — you are legally required to have one. You can use AI tools to help draft a basic privacy policy quickly.

Real-world example

A Limerick accountancy firm adds a privacy policy page to their website after setting up a contact form. It explains they store enquiry details for 12 months and do not share them with third parties — ticking a key GDPR requirement.
