First-Party Data

First-party data is information you collect directly from your own customers — through your website, email list, bookings, or purchases. It is the most valuable type of data because it is accurate, consent-based, and owned by you. As third-party cookies are phased out, businesses that have built strong first-party data assets have a major advantage.

Real-world example

A gym collects members' email addresses and class preferences at sign-up. They use this first-party data to send personalised class recommendations — without relying on Facebook or Google ads to reach them.
