Generative AI is a type of AI that can create new content — text, images, audio, or video — based on instructions you give it. ChatGPT is generative AI for text. Midjourney and DALL-E are generative AI for images. For most small businesses, the most useful form is text generation: writing emails, social posts, descriptions, and documents.

A furniture shop owner uses generative AI to write unique product descriptions for 50 items in an afternoon, instead of spending a week writing them.
